Candidate Filing Opens for St. Anthony-New Brighton School Board Election

St. Anthony Village, Minn. — The candidate filing period for the upcoming St. Anthony-New Brighton School Board election opens Tuesday, July 29 and runs through Tuesday, August 12 at 5 p.m. This fall, voters will elect four members to the six-person school board during the general election on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025.

The positions on the ballot include:

  • Three four-year terms (currently held by Laura Oksnevad, Michael Overman, and Dr. Prachi Striker).
  • One two-year term to fill the remainder of the seat formerly held by Ben Phillip, who resigned in June.

School board members serve as elected leaders and community representatives, helping guide the vision, policy, and budget priorities for the district. They play a vital role in ensuring that the district's schools are responsive to the needs of students, staff, families, and the broader community.

Interested individuals must be:

  • At least 21 years old
  • A U.S. citizen and eligible voter
  • A resident of the school district for at least 30 days before the election
     

Candidates must file an affidavit of candidacy and submit a $2 filing fee to Ramsey County Elections Office, located at 90 W. Plato Blvd during regular office hours. The filing deadline is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12.
